Haircut

Last week I finally got my haircut!(early mothers day gift) I went last Friday but didn't like the way it looked so I went back today and the owner fixed for free! Now I love it! This is as close to a self shot as I am going to get too:)!

I sure think so! I sure love my little missionaries!

Fowler Farm

Today we finally finished planting our garden. We had our last freeze 2 days ago, so now we can plant without fear of a freeze. We have corn, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, cilantro, mint, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, and apples all in the works. Our neighbors tease us that we have a mini-farm in our backyard but we love it! We also planted a variety of wildflowers along the back fence to add some color. I love spring! Summer and fall will be full of the fruit of our labors and I can't wait to taste it! YUMMY!

5 Things…

I was tagged so I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity to reflect and think ahead.

5 things I was doing 5 years ago.
1. Anxiously awaiting Jeremy to finish college.
2. Packing our apt. in preparation of our move to Houston, Texas for Jeremy’s first accounting job.
3. Being a busy mom of 2 boys not in school yet.
4. Doing preschool with Micheal.
5. We had only one car then, so I was just trying to stay sane! Thank goodness for family!

5 things I’ll do tonight.
1. Finally finish my laundry for the week.
2. Cook dinner.
3. Get the boys down to bed, while Jeremy is at scouts.
4. Go to a meeting for RS.
5. Hopefully see my husband in between scouts and my meeting.

5 things I would do with a million-dollars.
1. Pay off all our debts. (Mortgage, medical bills, etc.)
2. Set up college, and mission funds for each of our boys.
3. Decorate and furnish our home so I can be more organized.
4. Replace our whole family’s wardrobe.
5. Put the rest in a savings account.

5 places I have lived.
1. Mesa, Arizona-before we got married, 2 apts. after we got married.
2. Provo,Utah-2 apts.
3. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
4. Houston, Texas
5. North Carolina-1 apt. and our first home now.

5 jobs I have had.
1. Sales at Toddlers-n-more
2. Sales at Trotters-women’s clothing
3. Mom-I’ve not worked outside our home since we got married.
4. Referee-I have 3 boys…enough said!
5. Occasionally I babysit for friends.

5 things I want to be doing in 5 years
1. Decorating our home-sewing, refinishing,
2. Continue to be active-running, walking, biking, playing, swimming, etc.
3. Go back to school to be a nutritionist or personal trainer or both?
4. Spend more time at the temple. Our closest temple is 2hrs. away.
5. Have more date nights! I'll have a home-based babysitter (Micheal)! Yay!

My Arizona Visit

For my Christmas present, I got a plane ticket to go visit my family in Arizona. I spent a week in Arizona and then came home for Clayton's baptism and brought some of my family back with me. While I was in Arizona, I was excited to spend time with them. I was able to spend time with all of my family, some more than others but I got to see everyone. I spent most of my time with my brother Nate's family, trying to encourage baby Rylie to come out! Then helping after she came. One of the highlights of my trip was playing with my niece's and nephew's. Being a mom, I don't get much time to be an aunt, but this time I went by myself so I was able to play. It was so fun to go on bike rides, play Frisbee, play ring-around-the-rosie, and lots of other games. That was the first time I had ever actually played with any of my niece's and nephew's and gotten to know them. Now I'm not just a picture on a wall to them and that means a lot to me! I also got to meet a new nephew, Paxton, and while I was there Rylie was born! It was fun to hold my new niece and nephew, to see them so tiny and new, that was very special to me because they never stay little, and the next time I see them will be at Christmas and they won't be the same, but they will be a lot of fun too!

I still wish I had more time to spend with each of them, but I will see them again soon!It is a whole lot easier to say "see ya later" when you know when later is. Thank goodness I know that I'll see all of them again at Christmas. I am already excited for Christmas and we haven't even made it to Easter yet!

What a fun & crazy March!

Well, It has been over a month since I updated the blog because of how crazy the month of March has been. For starters, Micheal turned 10, and Clayton turned 8 and was baptized. We had lots of family come out for the baptizm and we had a lot of fun!! We were so thankful that they could come and spend time with us at this special time in Clayton's life. We are so proud of Clayton and love him so much!

I sure love my family!

Snow Day!

We got 3 inches of snow Sunday night! The wind blew some of it away but we were all very excited because we knew we would get a legitimate snow day from school. We have had 3 snow days this school year. The first 2 were a joke! They closed down the schools for a dusting of snow, not even enough for one snowball. It had been raining for 2 days before this snow started so everything had a thick coating of ice under the snow and the roads were too icy to drive on and since Charlotte doesn't have enough snow plows, or salters the whole city shut down. We were out playing in the snow by 8am and Micheal was outside until I dragged him in for lunch at 1pm but was back outside a couple hours later. Clayton came in regularly for hot chocolate so he didn't let himself get too cold. Poor Tanner kept losing his gloves so he was very frustrated and cold so he didn't spend much time outside. In fact, we can't find one of his gloves. We think it may have gotten buried in one of the 4 snowmen we built. Hopefully we'll find it while it melts. Our trampoline was close to reaching its weight limit in snow so we had to rescue the trampoline which was fun too. We had snowball fights with neighbors and just had a great time enjoying our once-a-year snow. The best part of all of it was having our whole family home to play! I love snow days but I am grateful that they aren't more than once or twice a year. I think I would freeze to death and the beauty of snow would be lost in the consistancy. Just one more reason I love North Carolina!
